Job Description

Senior Environmental Engineer
Seattle (Hybrid)

Our client, a well-established employee‑owned environmental consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer to help lead remediation projects from investigation through cleanup, closure, and regulatory approval. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the technical work while also managing projects, guiding junior staff, and working directly with clients and regulators.

This person will play a key role in developing practical cleanup strategies, evaluating remediation options, preparing technical deliverables, and keeping complex projects moving forward. The firm also offers strong benefits, including 100% employer‑paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees, a 401(k) match, paid time off, holidays, and participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

The ideal candidate has strong environmental remediation experience, an active Washington PE license, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams while continuing to grow into broader client and business development responsibilities.

Senior Environmental Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement environmental or engineering solutions based on site conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead technical studies, design, and evaluation of project alternatives.
  • Prepare and review key technical reports and deliverables.
  • Select appropriate remediation or engineering approaches and develop cost estimates.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through project execution from investigation to completion.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Maintain client relationships and support proposal development.
  • Communicate technical findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Guide and support junior staff to ensure quality and consistency in project delivery.
Senior Environmental Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, Washington State PE license preferred.
  • At least 7 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Strong experience in site investigation, remediation design, and implementation.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (reports, proposals, client communication).
  • Experience with client development or expanding service offerings.
  • Familiarity with GIS and environmental data tools.
  • Experience in specialized remediation areas (e.g., PFAS, sediment, vapor intrusion, stormwater).
Company Benefits:
  • 100% employer‑paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match.
  • Paid time‑offs and holidays
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
Compensation:

$120,000 - $160,000 + Lucrative Bonus
