Judge Scott Walker currently serves on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the State’s highest criminal court.

 

Judge Scott Walker, when elected in 2016, came in first place in the GOP primary, the GOP primary runoff, and later in the general election.  Judge Walker faced three opponents in the primary, which included a former Supreme Court Justice, a career district judge who presided over several high-profile criminal cases with national exposure, and a career prosecutor.  Judge Walker received 833,757 votes, more than twice as many as the second-place finisher, who received only 411,119 votes.  In the general election, Judge Walker defeated his opponent by receiving over 1.2 million votes more than she did.

 

Judge Scott Walker had the honor of administering the oath of office to his son, Justice Brian Walker, who won his position on the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth with over 64 percent of the vote.

 

Judge Scott Walker is the proud father of a public-school teacher, who has a Master of Education degree and serves an English Department Head.

 

Judge Scott Walker is a long-time member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.

 

Judge Scott Walker litigated over 40 jury trials and over 100 appeals prior to serving in his position on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

 

Judge Scott Walker also represented and won thousands of dollars for veterans on their VA disability appeals before serving in his position on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

 

Judge Scott Walker was licensed to practice before all United States Veterans Courts.

 

Judge Scott Walker received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor Law School.

 

Judge Scott Walker graduated with honors from Dallas Baptist University.
